General Information

As part of the policy to support and further develop and promote the export of agricultural and industrial products, the Sector for Promotion of Trade in Goods implements a series of actions, which aim to strengthen the businesses of Cyprus. The implementation of these actions essentially contributes to the increase of exports, the penetration of Cypriot products in foreign markets and, in general, contributes to the improvement of the businesses’ extroversion. The actions are carried out by the Sector for Promotion of Trade in Goods in collaboration with the Trade Centers abroad, which are charged with the promotion of Cyprus’ products and services in the countries they cover.

More specific, four (4) “De Minimis” financial support schemes are applied with the aim of promoting both agricultural and industrial products, as well as services:

  • “De Minimis” aid scheme to Cyprus’ enterprises participating in trade exhibitions abroad in which the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry participates with national pavilion.
  • “De Minimis” aid scheme to Cyprus’ enterprises, active in the processing and/or trading of agricultural products for their participation in exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad.
  • “De Minimis” aid scheme to Cyprus’ enterprises active in manufacturing and/or trading of industrial products for their participation in exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad.
  • “De Minimis” aid scheme to Cyprus’ service providers for their participation in exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad.

Moreover, a number of other actions are implemented such as participation in exhibitions with an informative or online pavilion, the organization of tastings in selected markets and the publication of articles and advertisements in specialized printed and electronic media.
